The St. Louis and Suburban Radio Club is starting its 2027 membership drive, and all licensed amateur radio operators are invited to join us in support of amateur radio in the St. Louis area. Your annual membership of $30.00 will allow the club to continue its mission, and additional amateur radio operators at the same residence will then be able to join for free.
Originally formed in 1947 as the Suburban Radio Club, it became The Saint Louis and Suburban Radio Club in 2004 when the Suburban Radio Club and the St. Louis Repeater Association merged. The SLSRC is an American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Special Services club and we are very active.
During 2026 our club provided the following activities:
Elmering (aka Mentoring) Workshops are held on the air on the first Friday of each month to offer answers to any questions new and experienced hams might have.
Back to Basics classes are held in person (see website) on the first Friday of each month from October to March to inform new amateurs about the hobby and older amateurs about the basics we may have known in the past.
Technician, General, and Amateur Extra License Classes were held which brought new “hams” into the hobby and upgraded others.
Winterfest was partially snowed out which is another reason we need your support.
The annual Field Day was held the last full weekend in June. We all had a great time with a Fox Hunt and all of the fun and education, putting up and taking down all of the antennas and generating contacts.
The Engineering Committee continues to monitor our repeaters and make regular improvements to the SLSRC repeater infrastructure.
Our general club meeting is always on the 4th Friday of every month. Meetings start at 19:00 and each meeting includes a presentation of assorted topics of interest to our club, (for directions to our club meetings, go to https://slsrc.org/meeting-info/). We had presentations by members and non-members. We also conducted two Fox Hunts, a POTA activation, and met for a great evening of camaraderie at our Holiday Dinner.
