This month, we will have an extra special meeting:
- New room at MOBap – We will be meeting in room 415
- Radio Raffle Drawing – If you missed out on the Winterfest Special Radio Raffle due to the weather, you will get another chance to buy tickets in person (The FTM-310 FTM tickets are sold out). You can also purchase them online from our store before the meeting. The drawing will take place regardless of whether all tickets are sold.
- Historic presentation – Lisa Spahr, Author of World War II Radio Heroes: Letters of Compassion. Radio played an integral role in World War II—not only on the front lines, but also in the living rooms of Americans who listened anxiously for news of loved ones. Lisa wrote World War II Radio Heroes to honor the hundreds of people who wrote to her family and others, sharing news that her grandfather had been captured and was serving as a prisoner of war. She discovered these letters in her family home in Pennsylvania, sparking a journey to understand how this remarkable network of communication came to be. She is delighted to share this story with you. Lisa lives in St. Louis with her two teenagers and her rescue dogs.
We will have our March and April meetings in the same room. We have a few leads on other spaces for future meetings.
The meeting is on February 27th @ 7PM. General meeting info and location can be found at the following link: https://www.slsrc.org/meeting-info/.
