Tom Dougherty – Club Member, Scouter, Ambassador and Educator for Amsat.
Licensed: Technician in May 2014 as KEØAPK, in August 2014 passed his General and added a Vanity call Sign NØTJD, next about 9 years later completed his Amateur Extra.
He runs a Yaesu 991A and an ICOM-7100, in his shack, both sharing an end fed 58’, an 25’ vertical and on UHF/VHF a 10’ Diamond Antenna.
He has been a member of SLSRC member since 2014 and a K2BSA Member since 2014 (This is the Boy Scout National Radio Club for all Radio Merit Badge Counselors).
For 9 years was active with Radio Amateur Satellite Corporation – AMSAT as an Educator and Ambassador. During which time he coordinated and participated in 2 International Space Station School contacts with over 1000 students in attendance.
Tom became an Eagle Scout in 1960 and has been active in scouting as a leader since 1967. Currently, he is a merit badge counselor for Radio, Aviation, and Weather as well as STEM Chairman for Radio and Aviation.
This month’s presentation is a review of the ARRL Foundation Grant implementation where SLSRC has been instrumental in making it Scouts on the Air happen.
