Kyle Krieg (NØKTK) will be giving the program for October on SDR (Software Defined Radio) which will include how to get started with listening, and then upgrading to transmitting.
The meeting will be at 7 PM Friday, October 27 in rooms 419-420 of the Clinical Learning Institute of the Missouri Baptist Hospital.
Getting started in SDR is easier and cheaper than you think. Do you have an old computer, or maybe a raspberry pi? If so, you are already half way there. All you need, in addition, is a cheap $15 receiver from Amazon and you can start receiving from 600 KHz all the way to 2.4 GHz with free software you can download.
Kyle will also be reviewing the benefits and pitfalls of using an SDR and will then conclude his presentation with a live demo of the Flex 6000 SDR.
Anyone with an interest in SDR or who wants to learn about the future of ham radio hardware and software should plan on attending.
This is another “Don’t Miss” presentation.
