LTJG Allison M. Aitken, USCG will give an overview of the operations of the Eighth District of the U.S. Coast Guard based here in St. Louis. The Eighth District controls an extensive area of the middle of the U.S. with their span of radio communications in their mission to protect and safeguard our waterways.
LTJG Aitken is a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and earned the Third Mate Unlimited license, the GMDSS Radio Operator’s license and a degree in Maritime Logistics and Security. She was commissioned into the Coast Guard in June, 2023. She has been serving in the Upper Mississippi Sector in St. Louis since July, 2023 in the Incident Management Division.
