SLSRC October 25th Program & Meeting – My Radio Engineering Experiences by Joe Geerling, CPBE, CBNT – KFØMYJ

For the October SLSRC meeting, Joe Geerling – KFØMYJ will speak about his trials, tribulations and experiences of radio broadcasting in a major media market from the engineer’s perspective.

Joe as Director of Engineering at Covenant Network in St. Louis is a radio engineer with a rich background of experience. He is happily married, a proud father and grandpa with a passion for radio and tech.

He has worked in the radio industry for 45 years. His first radio job was at a “one-of-everything” station with no backups or spare parts. The first 15 years were exclusively FM and later expanding into AM engineering. He is also interested in IT, RF, studio design as well as the communities around radio.

He earned his Extra license in 2023 and has been experimenting with handheld and mobile communications and hobbyist technology like “Meshtastic.”

Be sure to watch his son Jeff’s YouTube video about “How to Make a Hot Dog Talk.”

The meeting is on October 25th @ 7PM. General meeting info and location can be found at the following link: https://www.slsrc.org/meeting-info/.
