The St. Louis & Suburban Radio Club general meeting will be held on the 28th of February. February’s program is “Three Miles Per Hour — How an Avid Hiker uses Ham Radio.”
Kai Gansner (KEØQEJ) will be presenting his view on how he uses amateur radio as a new ham.
“How did you get into the amateur radio hobby? Think back to that spark that ignited the interest. How did you tend to that fire? Come gather ’round a new HAM’s fire and listen to a story of a journey that touches on human aspect, the technical “use case” overview, and a sense of adventure. It’s the middle of winter, and you just might like to feel the heat.”
Kai is a husband, son, brother, and uncle dedicated to the relationships that make life enjoyable. He graduated from Truman State University in December of 2005 with a degree in Communication Science, and a minor in Business Administration. He has worked for one of the country’s largest membership based nonprofits as Director of Member Services, and currently works as a Guest Engagement Specialist at a large local craft brewery. His expertise lies within the non-technical realm of communication, but being a lifelong learner, he excels at connecting the dots. In addition to being a General Class licensed amateur radio operator, Kai is an avid hiker, hunter, home cook, certified welder, and is also a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) certified citizen.
