Winterfest 2018 has come to a close. The SLSRC has had another successful hamfest.
With more than 900 people in attendance, the room was full of life. Vendors ran the gamut from
commercial vendors with new radios and equipment to clubs, organization and flea market vendors with
“antiques” and gently used items.
The forums by Emmett Hohensee, WØQH, with RadioWavz and Mark Siegesmund, W9WMR, with West
Mountain Radio were well attended. These men did a great job covering a multitude of information in a
small amount of time.
The grand prize of the Icom IC-718 was won by Brian Maves, K9QQ (See picture). Brian was very excited
to be the winner of the radio.
While Winterfest 2018 is now in the rearview mirror, Winterfest 2019 planning is already underway. We
will need lots of help to get this up and running.
We will have some exciting new ideas for Winterfest such as a redesigned website, and logo contest.
