SLSRC is once again honored to have Roger Volk KØGOB as a program presenter on February 27.
Since his last presentation to the club, Roger has “downsized” and as a result, has experienced some challenges in maintaining his HF station in his new location.
Below is a preview (in Roger’s words) of his February program, and a bio of Roger.
“See and hear how Roger, KØGOB, built not one but two Ham stations at a senior living complex and take notes of portions that may be applicable to condos, apartment buildings and restricted antenna locations. Where there is the will, there is a way. Roger will pass around some specialized tools he used to make the final installation look professional on buildings not owned by the resident Ham.”
Roger Volk, KØGOB, Professional Engineer, received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri in Rolla (Now Missouri University of Science and Technology). He received his MBA from St. Louis University and worked as an engineer and engineering manager at Monsanto for 28 years before retiring at age 52. He consulted for seven more years before learning that “work” is a four letter word that should not be used in mixed company. Roger is President of the MARA (Monsanto Amateur Radio Association),and an officer with Missouri Digital Group (D-star Repeaters and Reflectors in St Louis Area) and Treasurer of the Missouri Repeater Council.
