The next monthly meeting of the SLSRC will be held August 23 at 7:00 p.m. Our speaker will be Travis Few, N9EOD. Travis has been licensed since 2013. He recently retired after 20 years in the Air Force and currently works in a government cybersecurity role. He is also a father of 4, whom he homeschools with his wife.
Over the last year and a half, he has become involved in High-Altitude balloon launches, first in Texas with the Civil Air Patrol while stationed there with the Air Force and now with youth organizations in the St. Louis area. He has conducted eight launches and recoveries, the most recent with a homeschool co-op class. He will present the fundamentals of HAB launches and the results of the most recent launch. His children will also be on hand to give their thoughts on the experience.
