SLSRC is honored to have Mel Whitten (KØPFX) as the presenter for the September 22nd meeting. The meeting begins at 7 PM in rooms 419 – 420 of the Goldfarb School of Nursing at Missouri Baptist Hospital.
Mel is an electrical engineer with a background in telecom and owner of a Midwest consulting firm. He was first licensed in 1958 and holds an Extra class.
His longtime interest in improving analog ATV lead him to being an early adopter of Digital Amateur Television (D-ATV) using the Digital Broadcasting Terrestrial (DVB-T) open standard modified for ham radio. Mel will share his experiences and expertise to show how you may get on the air sending and receiving high definition 1080p video and use the D-ATV repeater with low cost, plug-n-play hardware and software.
Mel will also talk about the highlights of the 36th annual TAPR Digital Communications Conference held in St. Louis on September 15-17.
This is another “don’t miss” presentation, so hope to see you on the 22nd .
